About this Workshop
Are you thinking about or in the early stages of starting a business, considering business librarianship, or do you work with faculty or other researchers who focus on business? Build up your business research skills with us. Participants will learn fundamental approaches to answering business-related reference questions or questions of your own as business owners with special emphasis on free, web-based sources. This workshop is geared toward beginners who are new to business research.
Participants will learn fundamental approaches to answering business-related reference questions with special emphasis on free, web-based sources. Specifically, we will focus on finding information related to:
company analysis
industry analysis
market analysis
management practices
This workshop is ideal for public or academic reference librarians, people interested in a career in business librarianship, or anyone exploring entrepreneurship and geared toward beginners who are new to business research.
Participants should be prepared to work in breakout room teams to answer exercise prompts using web-based resources to conduct research.
